New School Year Updates

June 13, 2018

Summer Office hours are 9-3 Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Uniforms can be found at Inka’s Baton Rouge location at 11626 Sherwood Forest Court, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70816 and Young Fashions at 11111 Coursey Boulevard, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70816.

  • Boys need Khaki or Navy pants (they do not have to be from the uniform stores) and a Southland Shirt from Inka’s or Youngs Fashion.

SCA’s dress code for K4-2nd grade BOYS ONLY is as follows: Navy blue or khaki uniform pants or shorts (shorts must be below the knee), belt, and school polo shirt.  Shirts must be tucked in.  K4 boys are not required to wear belts.

On cold days, long-sleeved white, navy, or yellow shirts may be worn under uniform polos.

  • Girls need a Southland shirt and skirt or a romper (up to grade 6).
  • 3rd-10th grade will participate in P.E. They are required to have plain Navy Blue athletic, basketball-style shorts and a Burgundy t-shirt. Both must be plain with no logos. They must be to the middle of the knee.  Academy is a great place to find the upper grades. Sport and Center will carry the elementary sizes. (Ask them for Maroon)

The new school year begins on August 7. Our Student Orientation will be held on Thursday, August 2 at 6:30pm. Orientation is mandatory for all students, and they must be accompanied by at least one parent. Join us to learn all about what the new school year holds!

We offer exciting Dual Enrollment opportunities to our 11th and 12th grade students. We will discuss how this program works at Student Orientation.

School supplies will be so much easier this year!  Your book fee will cover most of your supply needs. Your teacher may ask for a few specific items, but this list will give you an idea of what you will need:

  • Backpacks and lunch boxes for all grades
  • K4-K5 will need a plastic mat (Kinder Mat size) and a small blanket (labeled with the child’s name)
  • K4-K5 will also need an extra change of clothes that meet our school requirements (this does not have to be a school uniform)
  • 1st-12th grade must have their own KJV Bible (OT and NT)
  • 7th-12th grade will need their own pencil bag
  • 9th-10th grade must have a calculator with x and x root
  • 11th-12th grade must have a graphing calculator
