SCA Philosophy… Why SCA?
February 26, 2016
Southland Christian Academy was established in 1968 as a ministry to partner with families to help educate their children in a Christian environment with higher educational standards. Since its founding, many decisions and factors have been instrumental in growing our school into what it is today and what it will be in the future. With a desire to step outside the status quo, our goals and objectives have been designed to help us do just that! Striving to provide a quality education and to prepare our students to be productive in society has always been part of our basic desire. The way we accomplish this is what I believe makes us different than other educational institutions. We believe true education begins with a relationship with God which provides the opportunity to explore His truths. We also believe that life lessons, such as respect, obedience, responsibility, confidence, etc., are an essential part of the practical educational process and, thus, cannot take a back seat to core subjects. As a staff, we seek to go beyond the realm of being simply classroom teachers to step in and fill the roles of being mentors and examples of Godly character while taking a personal interest in the lives of each student. In that sense, we are not just a school--we are a family that is open and welcoming! Our academy is determined to provide a safe, loving environment in which to educate our students. Our school family is dedicated to helping you raise your children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord in a very challenging time. If you are you looking for a quality, Christian education, I hope you will take me up on my invitation for you to come join our school family! We believe you will see and experience a very real, refreshing difference.
